Anyone willing to put on their Sherlock Holmes hat and cue up the "Law & Order" theme could find themselves $1,000 richer. That is as long as they’re able to solve the case of the missing side by side.

The Lathrop football team’s side by side ATV hasn’t just gone missing. According to Malemutes head coach Luke Balash, it was actually stolen. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the recovery of the side by side.

“We’ve been posting on Facebook and checking pawn shops and filed a police report,” Balash said via text message. “No dice.”

Balash said the vehicle was stolen Sept. 6 (Labor Day) at 12:30 a.m. (just after midnight) from the secured lot behind the school. The side by side had Lathrop football water jugs and “other stuff” in it, according to Balash.

The vehicle cost $7,000 and was purchased with team funds.

If anyone has any information on the side by side, contact Lathrop High School.
