FAIRBANKS - Nancy Fresco and Ron Koczaja were the individual winners, while Running Late won the team competition in the Dawn to Dusk Run hosted by Running Club North.
Runners had from 11 a.m. to 2:41 p.m. to see how many times they could travel around a three-mile course, starting and finishing at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Great Hall.
Temperatures during the race ranged from 25 below to 35 below.
Fresco and Karen Taber both completed six trips around the course, 18 miles, but Fresco did it the fastest to claim the women’s crown. Catherine Chandler took the third spot by going 15 miles.
Koczaja breezed to victory in the men’s event by completing eight laps for a distance of 24 miles. Estesen was second, completing 18 miles and Alexander Bergman was third with 15 miles.
Running Late, featuring Brigit and Doug Noon, finished with an average of 16.5 miles. Doug Noon went 18 miles and Brigit went 15.
Team miles were calculated by adding the number of miles each team member ran together and dividing the total by the number of runners in the event.
Parade of Past Presidents, Tracey Martinson (9 miles) and Bob Vitale (18), finished second with a 13.5 average.
The Frosty Snow Women, Caroline Brown (6), Shalane Frost (21) and Teresa Hollingsworth (9), took third place at 12.
Working On It was fourth with a 9-mile average. The team was comprised of Jamie Hansen (6) and Steve Hansen (12).
Rounding out the field was Dad Made Me Do It with a 8-mile average. Louise Kowalski (12), Richard Stolzberg (3) and Robert Stolzberg (9) comprised the team.
The next event on the Running Club North calendar is the New Year’s Eve Run at 11:30 p.m. Dec. 31, with the start and finish at The Diner on Illinois Street.
