FAIRBANKS — Nine teams participated in Puttin’ on the Ritz, a ladies golf tournament, on Sunday at North Star Golf Club. 

The team comprised of Jeannette Smith, Martha Hanlon, Sonia Mazurek and Nancy Mazurek won the first flight after finishing with a 35 on the nine-hole course.

Clarice Dukeminier, Pat DeRuter, Kathy Tucker and Lisa Donat came in second with a 36.

Kianna Vondra, Vanessa Vondra, Tracy Culbert and Valerie Therrien won the second flight with a score of 38. Two teams tied for second place in the flight with 39s. Chris Hume, Laura Morton, Patty Imus and Berni Stump made up one team, while Cindy Lucksted, Angie Lucksted, Trista Flynn and Maida Buckley were the other.

The tournament had a “Christmas in July” theme, and prizes were given to participants in the best costumes. It raised $230 for the North Star Golf Club Junior Golf Girls scholarship.

Any girl who registers for the Junior Golf camp will receive a $25 scholarship toward their camp registration.
