Obituaries are priced at 35 cents per word. There is no word limit. Price includes an optional photo and/or U.S. flag (available to accompany the obituaries of deceased active-duty and retired members of the military). If you wish to include a photo, attach it in the email as a JPEG image. Other file formats (PDF, PNG, etc.) will not be accepted.Payment must be received before publication. For obituaries submitted by an out-of-area funeral home or by a family member, we will call you upon receipt of the obituary to process payment. Obituaries submitted by a Fairbanks funeral home with an account at the Daily News-Miner are billed to the funeral home directly.If you are a family member who did not use a funeral home, crematory service or mortuary service, please indicate that in the required Funeral Home/Mortuary listing. The Daily News-Miner must make confirmation of next-of-kin through funeral homes or other official third parties. Funeral home information will not be published unless included in the text of the obituary. When submitting an obituary, please spell out acronyms on first reference and avoid using symbols in lieu of words, such as “&” for “and.” . • Obituaries can be found online at newsminer.com/obituaries. They usually appear online the day they appear in print. Visitors may sign the online guestbook. Obituaries received prior to noon Monday through Friday will be printed in the next day’s paper. Space cannot be guaranteed in the next day’s edition for obituaries received after the noon deadline, but we will do our best to accommodate obituary requests. Obituaries received over the weekend, on a holiday, or after the end of business on Friday will be processed Monday.
