To the editor: Judge Brett Kavanaugh has a record that needs to be more closely examined. It has recently been unearthed from some older news reports that, back during 9/11, as associate White House counsel to George W. Bush, he advocated for capping the amount of money victims of 9/11 could receive. Could someone be so cruel? Especially to first responders and their families?
More information about this dubious candidate must be discovered before Congress moves to vote on his appointment for the Supreme Court.
However, it appears that this might be made more difficult by our “dictator-wannabe” president. After this information got out, he’s now using executive privilege to put a clampdown on any such information being released from the AP wire.
This is what dictators do. If Kavanaugh has so much to hide that this president would use such a strong-arm tactic on the media, what is it that is so dark that we should know about?
Sens. Dan Sullivan and Lisa Murkowski need to consider the future of this country, and all its people before blindly, and, in a partisan manner, voting for this extremist candidate for Supreme Court.
