FAIRBANKS – A fire burned an uninhabited cabin Sunday morning in Fort Yukon, according to Alaska State Troopers.

The fire was reported about 1 a.m. on Third and Spruce streets in the Yukon River community. The home, which consisted of a log cabin with an addition, was consumed by fire. 

The logs in the center portion were heavily charred when first responders arrived, troopers said in a news release.

The home was a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
