The Fairbanks Emergency Communication Center (FECC) was awarded the 2021 Rave Mobile Safety SmartSave Award, the city announced Wednesday.
The award is given to national partners of Rave technology who incorporate innovative technologies into their 9-1-1 emergency communication operations, the city’s news release said. FECC was recognized specifically for its use of text-to-911 technology and mass emergency notification system.
“We have had several emergencies and critical incidents over the last few years in which our dispatches have utilized Rave technology,” said Kristi Merideth, dispatch manager.
“We are proud to have received recognition from our commitment to incorporating new technologies into our dispatch center in order to make precious minutes count and help our community be a safer place.”
