FAIRBANKS — A Circle man charged with sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl was arraigned in Fairbanks District Court on Sunday.
Gerald W. Ginnis, 40, was indicted on one count of felony first-degree sexual abuse of a minor on Jan. 8 and Superior Court Judge Michael MacDonald issued a no-bail warrant for his arrest that same day.
According to an Alaska State Trooper news release, members of the Fairbanks Rural Unit went to Circle on
Saturday morning to serve the warrant and found Ginnis driving with a revoked license.
Ginnis was arrested on the outstanding warrant and additionally charged with misdemeanor driving with a revoked license.
Ginnis was taken to Fairbanks Correctional Center and is being held without bail.
Ginnis’ license was revoked for a driving under the influence conviction, according to the news release.
The abuse of the girl occurred in Circle in August of last year, according to the indictment.
