If you have a favorite image of Alaska, Rep. Don Young and his staff would like to share it.

Young, the most senior member of the U.S. House, is connecting with younger generations on social media by hosting a virtual gallery of favorite Alaska photos.

Young’s office has announced “Picturesque Alaska,” which will showcase images of the state with photographers of all skill levels invited to submit favorite original photos. The pictures will be posted to the Congressman’s social media accounts.

“In Congress, I have been a steadfast supporter of the arts and humanities,” Young said.

The virtual photo gallery will be online through 2021. The photos may be of the outdoors, architecture, cultural events and community happenings. They will be shared by Young on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

“Whether the subject is a towering mountain peak or a traditional Alaska Native gathering, I encourage you to submit your original work,” Young said in a prepared statement.

Here’s how to submit a photo:

Send an email to akphotos@mail.house.gov with the photo as an attachment.

Include the photographer’s name and hometown, the subject and location of the photo, the date the photo was taken, and a short description about how it captures the spirit of Alaska.

If there are people in the photo, get their permission first before sending the photo.

The photo with attribution will be shared on social media.
