Dancers with the Lathrop High School Ballroom Dance Team perform at Tri-Valley School in Healy, 2019.

The Ballroom Dance Club of Fairbanks (BDCF) is ready to throw on their dance shoes and get moving.

Christin Swearingen is teaching Fairbanks how to do the Lindy Hop, a swing dance popular in the late 1930s. The classes are $60 for members, and $70 for non-members. Street swing or dance experience is required, as this class is not for beginners.

Week 1 of 6 of the Lindy Hop Dance Lessons will begin at 6:30-7:25 p.m. on Nov. 10 at the Pioneer Park Dance Center, 2300 Airport Way, in Fairbanks.

BDCF recommends bringing a partner within your close circle, and requires vaccination cards for registration. Bring clean, non-marking shoes to help protect the nice dance floor.
