Green Star is hosting a Repair Café in collaboration with The Folk School!

This is an open house event for community members to bring in broken household items. Working with various talented repair people from around Fairbanks, you will be able to fix that item using all the tools of the trade, guided by the experience and knowledge of our volunteer fixers!

The theme of this Repair Café is electronics and small household appliances. Please note that our volunteer fixers will not be repairing any software issues on electronic devices; we will be happy to refer you to a local repair shop for those types of fixes.

We have the following guidelines for items our fixers can take a look at:

-You must stay with your item while it’s being repaired (no drop-offs).

-You must be able to carry your item by yourself and it cannot be hazardous or leaking any fluids.

-Our fixers will have repair tools, but not replacement parts. If you think your item will need to have a piece replaced, please bring the replacement with you.

-Our fixers will help with hardware fixes but not software issues for electronic repairs.

Helpers include:

-Hayden Jones, Frozen North IT Services

-Jeff Bosworth, Computerwerks

-Art Gelvin, Engineer

-Orren Wilkinson, Green Star Staff

Age range: adults (older children accompanied by an adult also welcome)

Cost: Donations to support The Folk School and Green Star will be very appreciated!

This event is FREE, but we ask folks to registers so we can get an idea of what we'll be fixing. Register here:
