Letter to the Editor

Nov. 20, 2012

To the editor:

In the Nov. 8 edition of the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, it states that the state of Alaska’s annual North Slope petroleum lease sale earned $14.2 million on Nov. 7, with tracts covering the near-shore waters of the Beaufort Sea, the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska, the western development area of the North Slope, the North Slope Foothills and the Kuparuk area.

The companies involved were Nordaq Energy Inc., Woodstone Resources LLC, Repsol E&P-USA, ConocoPhillips, BP PLC, Chevron Corp., ExxonMobil Corp. and Anadarko Petroleum Corp.

What Doyon Limited and the Tanana Chiefs Conference can do to help their shareholders and TCC clients to obtain employment is to send their employment specialist liaisons to each of these companies to find out what the necessary procedures are regarding employment.

I know a lot of Doyon shareholders who are general laborers, drillers, cooks, kitchen helpers and housekeepers. There are a lot of us who would like to work.
