ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The former clerk for Chugiak High School has agreed to repay funds she embezzled from the school.

KTUU-TV (http://is.gd/TI16Y5) says that Brenda Burge's attorney told an Anchorage judge at a change of plea hearing this week that so far she has paid $12,000 in restitution.

Under a plea deal, Burge will pay the school $60,000 and be on five years' probation.

The 55-year-old Wasilla woman was fined and arrested last year after the school found almost $75,000 in student fees missing. Anchorage police detectives say she pocketed small amounts of cash going back to 2007.

Burge is not the only former Chugiak High employee charged with stealing. Gayle White, who also worked at East High, is accused of pocketing more than $100,000 in missing student fees.
