FAIRBANKS - A winter storm packing 20 to 40 mph winds is making travel difficult from Atigun Pass north, according to the Alaska Department of Transportation.

Heavy winds are causing drifting and blowing snow, reducing visibility. Road conditions are slick. Travel is not advised and chains are required. Poor conditions extend to about Mile 300 of the Dalton. The advisory is in effect through Thursday morning.
