Tara Michelle Delana and Terrence Francis Mitchell were married Aug. 18, 2012. The ceremony and reception were held at the Anchorage Museum.
Tara is the daughter of Brett and Charity Delana, of Anchorage. She graduated from West Valley High School and the University of Alaska Fairbanks with bachelor degrees in accounting and business. She is employed as a payment risk ops agent with Etsy.
Terrence is the son of Thomas and Joanne Mitchell, of Brooklyn, N.Y. He graduated from Monseigneur Farrell High School, and the U.S. Air Force Academy with a bachelor’s degree in English, and Brooklyn College with a master’s degree in education. He is pursuing a master’s degree in geology from Brooklyn College. He is employed as a middle school science teacher with the New York City Department of Education.
Christina Sawyer, of Fairbanks, served as matron-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Samantha Mitchell and Jacqueline Mitchell, the groom’s sisters, both of Brooklyn. The matron-of-honor’s daughter, Sophia Sawyer, was the flower girl.
Kevin Mack, of Valdosta Ga., served as the best man. Groomsmen were John Seiler, of Fairbanks, and Shea Delana, of Anchorage, the bride’s brother.
Terrence and Tara met while Terrence was stationed at Eielson Air Force Base in Fairbanks, and they both worked as DJs at KSUA 91.5FM College Radio.
They honeymooned in Bermuda, and live in Brooklyn.
