Kyla Marie Stark and Gerry William Hovda were married on July 13, 2012. The ceremony was officiated by Gerry’s grandfather, Gerry Lee, and was held on the competition ski trail at the Birch Hill Recreation Area.
Kyla is the daughter of Karin and Wade Stark. She will graduate from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in spring 2013, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Gerry is the grandson of Gerry Lee and Dolly Ann Hovda, and the son of Gerry R. Hovda and Eden Bell-Hovda. He will graduate from UAF in spring 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Abbey Stark, the bride’s sister, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Ross, Jordan Reeves, Stephanie Parrish and Meredith Hazen, all of Fairbanks.
The best man was Robert Hovda, the groom’s brother. Groomsmen included Gerry R. Hovda, John Hovda, Ian Kjera and Wyatt Mayo, all of Fairbanks.
Madison Rose Carlton was the flower girl.
The bride and groom are 2008 graduates of Lathrop High School and were high school sweethearts. Their six-year relationship has been filled with many fun adventures and they are excited to see what their future holds.
Gerry and Kyla spent their honeymoon in Oahu, Hawaii, having fun hiking, seeing the sights, scuba diving, paragliding and relaxing on the beach.
