Blog: Election 2008
The police have asked everyone parked on the street to move their cars. There must be hundreds parked on the streets around this community center. I am in the main room and not one person left to go move their car. One woman I interviewed said she called in sick to work today but she came here because she wants to be a part of history. Another lady, a soldier's wife, just moved here six weeks ago and brought her sick 10-month-old baby out into the cold to be a part of this.
People are getting testy about all of the speech-making and have started to shout "Let's get started."
