Letter to the Editor

Dec. 22, 2012

To the editor:

I was recently the victim of a vehicle theft. The person who stole my car did so from my own driveway. At once I called the police and filed a report. Within a few hours my car had been retrieved because a resident reported it, after the suspect abandoned it.

I want to thank this resident who reported my car as found. His willingness to help a random person he did not know made my Christmas season better. I would also like to thank the officer for his help. He was polite, supportive, and responded quickly.

As a reminder to the residents of Fairbanks, do not leave your car unattended, not even in your own driveway. If this happened to me, it could happen to anyone.
