Fairbanks Daily News-Miner Letter to the Editor
Sept. 23, 2012
To the editor:
I support Norm Phillips for mayor. It is time for a strong leader who can bring some private sector urgency and sensibility to the borough mayor’s office.
Our next mayor needs to plot a course that will focus on a more robust local economy. This administration seems to look to a government solution first, but we know better. More jobs, healthier household spending, more confidence in our community will come from a mayor who looks to the private sector first to fix our problems. Norm seems to get that.
Norm has a charisma and a self-assuredness that will breathe confidence into our community's ability to grapple with the hard times that face us. Norm Phillips makes me feel better about living in Fairbanks. I trust him. I like his values. I like his leadership.
These are treacherous times. Fairbanks is at a critical juncture. I’m going to vote for Norm Phillips because I believe his skill set is better suited for the challenges that lie ahead.
