FAIRBANKS - Linnaea Uliassi, 9, is a talented fourth-grader at Pearl Creek Elementary. She does ballet and karate and is part of the school orchestra.

Her teachers Kristi McEwen and Brent Rodenberger said she is also academically talented.

Rodenberger said Uliassi demonstrates a determination to succeed and a positive outlook towards her studies. He said she’s working above her grade level in several areas and works well with others.

“Her narratives are meaningful and easy to read,” he said.

McEwen called Uliassi responsible, kind, hard working, self-reliant and strong-minded, but she said Uliassi keeps a modest and introspective side.

“She never seeks out attention or recognition for her achievements; instead, Linnaea quietly strides to achieve the highest personal goals for herself,” McEwen said.
