On behalf of Tri-Valley and other fellow alumni, it may look embarassing to you, but it is quite a moment to look back on. It's nice, being able to bend the rules of a formal graduation and having that opportunity because it is such a small school. The graduation was very nice.

I guess it was only a matter of time before they figured out a way to get away with murder. Claim insanity and ye shall be set free. What a crock. Murder is murder, I don't care how insane that person claimed to be.

I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but c'mon people. Some of the things posted here have been down right brutal. I'm not a huge fan of Elton John's, however I can appreciate good music as much as any "well-educated" person (education has nothing to do with it, get over yourself). Also, I agree, the concerts available to Fairbanks are few and far between. I always had to drive to Anchorage and spend A LOT more than $115 for the tickets, gas and lodging for some entertainment.
So good for Fairbanks! I hope everyone who gets a chance to see the show enjoys it - hope to see you there!

I guess I'm a bad mom. I am guilty of leaving my 11 month old, 5 year old and 6 year old in the car while I got gas, then ran inside to pay for it. It took me less than 2 minutes to go pay for the gas, whereas if I took all 3 kids out to run in, it would have taken AT LEAST 15 minutes to get them out, in the store, and back in the car.
I love my kids and would never put them in danger. But most of the time, I'm afraid to leave them in the car for even a minute, because of people like buddy. I don't want the cops to show up because someone doesn't know what it's like to wrangle kids and try to accomplish something. However, I will never and have never left my kids in the car while going into a store like Freds.
Instead of calling 911 or the cops, why not just wait by the car and chew the person out for how horrible they are for leaving their kids in the car? At least you know the kids would be safe, right? And know that the parent would get a good talking to, or is it just easier to call someone else?

Kenton was a friend of mine and I didn't get to say goodbye. My heart goes out to his family, I'm very sorry for your loss.
I have never supported impaired driving, but this hit too close to home. I don't think it should be losing your license after numerous offenses, they still don't learn. First time should be it, no warnings, no second chances - they should know better by now. As for educating more, the education of the effects of driving under the influence have been inforced more over the years. It doesn't seem to be making a difference. Regardless of what people know, or are taught, they still do as they want without concern of outcome or how it will effect other people.

I read these comments on a daily basis and have thought about posting my own, but it never bothered me enough to do it, until now.
First of all, I'd like to say, instead of ganging up on one person for their comments (rude or not) consider that it's freedom of speech. You may not agree with what they have to say, in this case, I hope you don't, but it is still their right to say whatever is on their mind. On the other hand, everyone should consider the feelings of the people more directly effected by this story.. the boy's family. Think twice about what you say. Regardless the color of your skin, how would you feel if it were your family member or friend in the article?
My deepest sympathies to the families and friends of those who have passed recently.

Way to go on following that advice and receiving treatment that cured your carpal tunnel. I worked for a chiropractor here in town for 2 years and was amazed at all the things they were capable of helping. All the nerves connecting to your joints that can cause various problems is usually the last thing anyone thinks about when they are in pain. After suffering an awful vehicle accident in 2002, chiropractors have helped so much in living a pain-free life.
I hope your opinion on chiropractors has been changed Jean, there are some good ones out there.
