I just got off the phone with the PFD office on behalf of a friend who failed to file her pfd this year(as you can imagine on hold forever!)and was told that if you failed to file for the 2008 dividend, then you will NOT receive the rebate. I was advised by the PFD to talk to the legislation if I felt this to be unfair. Now, if it's an energy rebate as many here are calling it then I don't see why one wouldn't get it if they have been receiving the dividend for 15 years in a row but mistakenly (huge mistake!) didn't file this year. I understand the rules and can except them about not qualifing for the dividend if you miss the deadline but why can't these unfortunate people get the "energy rebate"? On another interesting note, I also asked this gentleman about military personell that have left AK and yet still qualify and will receive this years dividend, if they too will be getting this rebate even though they are not here in AK and his answer was yes. Now, how is that fair?

I would go to the rally but I live in North Pole and it's too expensive to drive to the Carlson center. It's pretty bad that the very thing this rally is about is what's keeping me from attending...
