Ok, just this once, I'll play, Woodman. You're saying Alaska Airlines owes you transportation of goods in and out of the state and to the places you mentioned and that they owe you an explanation? Isn't that the very type of thing you're trying to slander me with, an ideological point of view that says everything is owed to us? The world is a bigger place than that. I guess everyone gets attacked on these blogs eventually. But gee, Alaska Airlines! We all love Alaska Airlines. I was just saying...

And you know, our country is more important than that. I'm not into demeaning anybody. I guess equating Sarah Palin's comment about 'a trip of a lifetime' to any flight to a vacation in Mexico was stretching it. I'll try to stay away from your space. Think of it as deference. But you're not going to get any more from me.

Oh, crap, without Alaska Airlines, Sarah Palin wouldn't have gotten to Mexico for her previous 'trip of a lifetime' - well, maybe they drove.

And am I the only one who noticed that perhaps 'trip of a lifetime' isn't the thing to call what to some people was the last trip they ever made (i.e. departure to the middle east war zone)?

There's a difference between sex and gender. It's nasty the way some people (uh, males, and we remember this from some of them in grade school/middle school/high school, and we now know we can call these folks harassers) try to blend that line to exploit us sexually. Guess what? we're not falling for it. And there were a lot of us who didn't like B. Clinton's personal actions - and there are a lot of us who see the same folks (again usually men but also their sycophantic women buddies) who use his actions as either a cover or as permission to do exactly the same things while slamming B.Clinton. This is an old story - and let's not add any more exploitation of it (especially from religious hypocrites).

Just watch Palin's entire interview. There's a lot of truth in some of the comments above. Watch the interviews on TV and/or online and make up your minds yourselves.

We need to not only blink but we need to think.
And in this case, it's not too hard.

I'm not going to equate people's psychological trauma, brain injuries, deaths, and other difficulties, heartache or incapacities related to Iraq, or our country's current financial condition with blinking or with any other inanity.

Just watch the interview. More of it on tonight on World News Tonight, on 20/20, and yesterday's, the first part, online.

I haven't read most of the comments above, but I wanna throw this in -

Hey, Jaybird is on Ch13, and he doesn't think Palin is qualified to be Pres! I never thought I'd agree with Jaybird, but there you are!

Oh, by the way, I'm 'over' the 'SarahLove.' Go rent that movie "Network." I can't remember all the details, but I remember the basic premise. I can't be the only one who's reminded of that scenario.

Jay said, "I'm a big McCain supporter, and I'm voting for the top of the ticket...Sarah Palin is the best thing for PR for the State of Alaska since Jay Hammond..." etc

You go, Jay. Altho I know John Brown would make and will make a really fine representative for District 10. I appreciate your transparency in that interview tho. I couldn't have parsed that better myself. Thanks, bro.

You are exactly the person I expected to make a nasty comment. I don't know who you are (and I really don't want to know) but I imagine you are one of the bullies running around town and would be very surprised if you weren't. Anyway, I understand you do not like my comment. Tough. I feel for all the people (especially women and children) who have to listen to the flip side (private/workplace/home) of your 'stuff.' But I'm immune. Tough luck, pal. We're better than this, ALL of us that aren't into the hate speech/verbal battering/whatever goofy thing you fancy it as. There are plenty of people who've suffered enuf. Leave us out of your nutty rants. And pls try to be accurate. But mostly, remember, we're not into your verbal battering-not in the News-Miner, not on the street, not in the workplace, not in the home. Try not to have an aneourism.

The following did not originate with me & no, it's not from anyone's 'talking points' (altho it should go into someone's talking points). Pls direct your hate speech, if you must do it, at someone in your family. I'm not into it. I'm sure they're used to suffering from it-hopefully they can find a way to get away from it and you can keep from poisoning the discussion here.

Interesting bit of info and insight from somebody:

Sarah selling the plane on E-bay is just another one of the fairy tales being told by John McCain and the RNC. There are some other issues associated with this story that are not getting much attention.
First: when the plane did not sell on eBay, why was the minimum bid, which was several hundred thousand dollars above the real value of the aircraft, not reduced? Did you wonder that at the time? I did.

Soon after it was removed from eBay and placed with a broker, Larry Reynolds bought it. He paid $600,000 below asking price and $400,000 below the E-bay price. Second question: who is Larry Reynolds and why was Speaker of the Alaska House John Harris in the middle of the deal?
The media has had little to say about Reynolds. Who is he?
Larry was a large contributor to the Palin/Parnell campaign in 2006.
Larry and his wife contributed to Speaker Harris's campaign in 2007.

Save $400,0000 on a jet for $3,000 in donations. Now we know why the E-Bay minimum bid was set so high. That's reform we can believe in.

On Palin accused of using 'Bridge to Nowhere' issue to gain stature

Posted on August 31 at 8:19 a.m. (Suggest removal)

The News-Miner's editorial was just on Meet the Press. And Polenty, the gov of Minn, looks very disappointed in her nomination. Sarah supported the Bridge to Nowhere during her 2006 campaign. There are a lot of people who think there's very little governing going on in Juneau. Ketchikan and the Mat Valley (i.e. Wasilla) had few projects vetoed by Palin while the rest of the state had massive vetoes. Can anybody say "pork?" I talked to a retired naval officer yesterday who said McCain reminds him of his former commander who was a 6yr POW and who would do irrational things in his tenure as an aircraft carrier commander (they were clear and intelligent comments he made, more extensive than there's room for here). McCain is a man in his 70s with recurring cancers. I like Sarah Palin. I like a lot of people. I don't think any of these are qualified to be president. I was as excited as anyone at Palin's nomination, but I'm not willing to be a hypocrite and pretend she (or McCain) would make any kind of adequate president. Economy! Iraq! Confirms McCain is as addled as I thought he was.

Any and all of you who think anything about this incident is amusing should be ashamed of yourselves - ditto racist or idiotic political rantings - and ditto gun fetish rantings. Not to mention that some of you gun fetish folks have a few screws loose...The rest of us (which is nearly all of us) recognize that.

My children went to West Valley and they were safe, but they might not have been. This forum may be a good place to bring this to adults' attention: when I drove school bus, recently, we were instructed that if we were aware of any student on our bus having a gun, we were to go to the school (no kidding), unload the students as normal (sure! that's normal!), secure the bus (turn it off and take the key), follow the students into the school building (and yes, 'follow' them), make no mention of anything on the radio (which is supposedly monitored by the district and which I think is also monitored by public safety - it should be - but the company said we could use no code, nothing), and then walk into the office and report the gun to a school administrator. I asked if there could be a code to report this before the gun was taken into the school. I was told in no uncertain terms, "No." What a bunch of irresponsible idiots. Great idea, let the kid walk into the school with the gun.

Just thought this would be a good place to get that little piece of information out into the open.

Certainly serious charges should be, and will be, brought against this student.

Thank you to those who had the common sense and sense of responsibility to report the firearm. You have courage and common sense. Thank you.
