Concernedandsad, I know that you and your family will remember all the memories of your daughter. My children are my foundation and I cannot imagine losing them at any time. I hope that you have the support that is needed.

My sincere condolence goes out to the Kinchen family and friends. This report did not mention wether or not the driver was wearing a helmet, if speed was a factor or road conditions. This information might help save another young man's life.

My Mother-in-law has two adorable Labradoodles raised as therapy dogs. They are family pets that also perform a much needed service to people who need companionship, understanding and unconditional love. These dogs give hope, compassion and smiles to those they come in contact with. I look forward to meeting Cruvin, his job is a most important one. To those kind souls that raise these dogs......Bless your hearts and wish that there were many more of you! :)

Hello Anne, Yes, I know it is the season again for cats to go out and hunt, kill and eat our precious birds, baby bunnies and squirrels. It's their nature. Although, I don't like waking up in the morning finding pieces and parts of the victims being brought in through the doggy door and half eaten. I have two cats and three small dogs....I believe they have a right to be outside. (we live on 5 acres) Do you have a pet?

To Jason's family... I'll be the first one to ask.....was he wearing a helmet? I am so very sorry for your loss and I don't want this to happen in my family or any others, BUT people these days don't seem to realize the importance of headgear and safety. Helmets should be a law that is enforced.

FYI ALL! I wanted to post a comment earlier on this subject in more detail, but decided not to because I thought that I would be giving out too much personal information. I changed my mind and toned it down a bit. I was raised in Alaska by parents who were intolerant of different races, religions, sexual orientation, etc. Their way of thinking didn't make sense to me. I formed my own views on just about everything anyway. My own children were brought up to be accepting of everyone. And yet, I still don't condone this DOS acknowledgement in their schools. It's not the right place. Our public schools already have an anti-bullying policy that students must abide by. BTW Ben, if you were my son I would accept you with loving arms no matter what! This may sound callous, but focus on schoolwork for now, huh?

Okay Paul, Shall we call this an "elective" then? Do my children get a grade for participating on DOS? Extra-curricular activities are offered in our schools, DOS should not be one of them.

Ben, I am not curious OR confused about the gay community. I accept it. But please don't try to incorporate this lifestyle by ways and means through my child's school. They are there to learn academics, not sexual orientation.
