Republicans are ALWAYS bad! Democrats are ALWAYS good! Republicans NEVER do anything good! Democrats NEVER do anything bad!

Always and Never do not provide credibility to arguments in politics.

Just another wack job rant.

Perhaps a convicted republican is more favored than a Democrat? Just a thought...

It has been my observation that many African-Americans, of all generations, did not believe that a black man would ever be President of the US 'in their lifetime'. Obviously President (E) Obama had/s the support of many Americans during the election process. But I feel that his accomplishment is further enhanced as it seems he swam upstream, in that many didn't think they would ever see this day.

Obama did not receive my vote for president. But, he has earned my respect and my support. Though his politics are not mine I do not feal as though a poor choice was made.

For the first time in my life I believe I was choosing between two GOOD candidates for president rather than 'the lesser of two evils'. I am excited to be alive and in my prime during this time in American history.

Good for you President (E) Obama. Be proud!

I disagree-

These political positions, like a planning commissioner, have great influence (perhaps even direct control) over matters that have great financial impact regarding members of the public, business communities and others. This influence is of value to people and may be swayed by financial favors, money, discounts, interest rates etc. so if you are in a position that has influence (i.e. any public office) then your financial disclosure may, in fact,be directly related to your job performance. But, hopefully it isn't. Disclosure will help insure that temptations are avoided and transgretions identified. Just ask Uncle Ted.

To make the point-

I (we) are the government. It is my (our) money that "they" will spend to "help" anyone. Including the $800B (oh, let's click print to pay for this) bailout.

I for one agree that everyone should have health care. I do not beleive that the answer to that problem in the US is national (government) health care. I do believe our current system is severly lacking and inadequate. But a national health care would cost me more money than I now pay for insurance and what it doesn't cover.

If you want a preview of what a national health care system would look like in this country just look at the military health care system including the VA and look at medicare/medicaid. I say no thanks! Exspensive, ineffective, out of date and no recourse for malpractice.

"Always" and "Never" will get you in trouble. All democrats are good? Even the congressman from Louisiana who was found to have $90K in his freezer? Party affiliation is not indicative of character.

Mr. Adasiak,

The United States is a Republic not, as you say, a democracy, merit, unfortunatley, has little place in government as indicated by history, and I like the clever semantic similitude.

Whate ARE teachers teaching...Here is what I have observed.

The bandage was wound around the wound.
The farm was used to produce produce.
The dump was so full it had to refuse more refuse
We must polish the Polish furniture.
He could lead if he would get the lead out
The soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert
Since there is no time like the present he thought it was time to present the present
A bass was painted on the bass drum.
When shot at, the dove dove into the bushes.
I did not object to the object
The insurance was invalid for the invalid
There was a row among the oarsmen about how to row
They were too close to the door to close it.
The buck does funny things when the does are present.
A seamstress and a sewer fell into a sewer line.
To help with planting, the farmer taught his sow to sow
The wind was too strong to wind the sail.
After a number of injections my jaw got number.
Upon seeing the tear in the painting I shed a tear.
I had to subject the subject to a series of tests.
How can I intimate this to my most intimate friend?

There is neither egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins weren’t invented in England or French fries in France. Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads, which aren’t sweet, are meat.

Quicksand works slowly, boxing rings are square and guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig. And why is it that writers write but fingers don’t fing, grocers don’t groce and hammers don’t ham?

If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn’t the plural of booth beeth?

One goose, 2 geese. So one moose, 2 meese? You can make amends but not just one amend. If you have a bunch of odds and ends and you get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it? An odd or an end?

If teachers taught, why don’t preachers praught? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? In what language do people recite at a play and play at a recital? Ship by truck and send cargo by ship? Drive on the parkway and park in a driveway? Why do we have noses that run and feet that smell?

How can a slim chance and fat chance be the same while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites? Only in English will your house burn up as it burns down, in which you fill out a form by filling it in, and an alarm goes off by going on.

English was invented by the human race, which, of course, is no race at all.

That is why when the stars are out, they are visible, but when light are out, they are invisible.

Why doesn’t Buick rhyme with quick?

If you can read this and it makes sense, vote for a raise for the teachers. If not - #$@%'em.
