"Like him or not, Don Young has done a great deal for Alaska, and we would be foolish not to send him back to Congress!"
OH puuuleeeeese! Maybe once upon a time! Its been a long time since Don Young ( or Stevens for that matter) has had the pulse of Alaska as his interest.
He needs to go. Its that simple.

I tend to lean towards a much larger portion of FWW being hazardous.
I don't think they ever determined what made those construction workers sick a few years back.. I *think* they were working on building the new hospital..
Whats worse... building a hospital or a family neighborhood on top of toxic waste.

Such a fine example of Alaska being a dumping ground!

It would be nice if GVEA would take another look at how they set up budget plans for electric. As it stands right now they aren't very "friendly" to anyone!
I can't recall the exact percentage but when I inquired about a budget plan this past winter I was told that a huge percentage of your heat source has to come from electric in order to qualify! Mine is mostly fuel oil BUT I still used electric to power that Toyo Stove, exhaust fans and stuff like that.
I have never lived anywhere where it was "policy" to turn someones power off during the winter. I kind of gathered from this article that its ok to do that here in Alaska. CRAZY!

I love living in Fairbanks because during the winter its like living in a snow globe and the summer is a color pallet of vivid colors!
(And the relatives can't just stop by)

*I* think its already obvious in Fairbanks that the number of RV's is less then usual. Just drive by the parking lot for Pioneer Park. There are barely any there camping out. Also, it HAS to be down... wading thru the grocery store is less frustrating cause there aren't as many people checking out what we pay for food! haha

"The police soon will be able to pull you over and give you a ticket for talking on your cell phone. so becareful out there. "
Not completely true. The way the law was written doesn't go so far as to include TALKING while on a cell phone. It pretty much just includes texting.
Either way.... I doubt that anyone who has a cell hasn't used it while driving.
