Seriously Che, your first comment is probably the most ignorant comment I've read on the DNM since I started following ridiculous comments... Have you ever been on Maury? Do believe the wife should stay in the kitchen and take care of the kids, have a beer on the table with your dinner by 6pm when you get home from work... Grow up. Maybe staying home is a good tactic for you, just so others of us don't have to be embarassed for your children

Well sorry to say believe it... I am not saying that they are all like that, or survival would be fairly horrible. But I do work downtown and see atleast one a day (that is somewhere between the hours of 9am-5pm) sleeping on the steps of Wells Fargo or (just today) the bench on Cushman and 3rd, if they are not sleeping/passed out mid-day they are stumbling and talking to themselves or yelling gibberish as I walk to the car. I don't want to believe that all Natives are like this and don't believe it but there hasn't been much of an opposing impression other then the bad one made. I did bartend for a while which didn't help the "scope" of my experiances. Thats my experiance though...
The point of this article was lost with this tangent so I'll end it.

I might also remind people that trials are abrasive and taxing on not only time but mind and soal. I have been a witness in a trial were a gun was brandished and assault happened by the end of the trial did I not only want the culprit to be punished according to the crime but learned that there were multiple other witnesses for BOTH sides that refused to testify. Sentencing was not exactelly what I would have liked or applied myself but he recieved a fair trial, I sat through it ALL, even jury selection. When I met (on numerous occasions) the now criminal he didn't seem to be the person that would do this but guess what he did, I saw it had the gun between my eyes, not fun!
These kids recieved not just one trial but 3, and your calling for a 4th, what in a place where racisim and the justice system is unflawed, how is that fair to the victim or other criminals who have not recieved the same.
Of all the Native Alaskan people I've met including the one that proceeded to slap the hood of my car while jaywalking to the liquor store while I was stopped for his jaywalking across the street they have all but one had some serious substance abuse, and even my friend when he is drinking cannot be tolerated.
I feel for the John Hartman family, I wish them all the best in finding resolution to their heartache.
In a little defense to WtWlly was not the one of the major issues of that night with one of the convicted and his mother and an assault? The point is many criminals start small and move up to the "Big Time" if they are not caught or punished rightfully for the little things the chances of them moving up are likely.

I have read the article that Mr. Mitchell is refering to and from a former servers stance more then less his points are extremely valid. As are some of the ones in the comments and article above mine.
Service in this town at SOME businesses sucks, there are many on the other hand that are good. One thing that is blatently stated above is that the COOK messed up your order not the server, not the manager. Having done the job and waited for the cook it sucks to walk up to a customer with food that is incorrect or late or just not up to standards. On the other hand it is very hard to find a cook in this town that will not only work for the crappy wage they get but come to work on time and not be high as a kite.
Secondly the customer has a lot to do with how they are treated. Is it not the Golden Rule to treat others the way you want to be treated. Has anyone watched to movie Waiting? It is an EXTREME!!! version of a restaurant but there are some very valid examples also, just watch the customer interaction and trust me when I say I have been treated this way, but definetly not retaliated in the same way. Just be aware of your attitude when talking to someone. Just because they are in the service industry does not mean they are your slave, they are on their feet all day usually not on a good floor just as a Nurse is but would you treat them that way.
For future refrence: service at Boston's sucks! So I don't go. I waited an hour for food at Bobby's on it's first night open but the server was very accomidating and did what she could. You could see Bobby himself frantically cooking and overwhelmed, on the first night. I would still go back, its a beautiful place.

There was a previous comment bashing women drivers, I think it was a bit stereo typical. I can remember multiple occasions where a MAN in a large truck or SUV, most likely compensation, with children and or a adult female in the vehicle has obviously seen me but still proceeds to cut me off, run me off the road, or turn in front of me. The message is here it does not depend on our anatomy as to how we drive. Ye s females are more chatty but I know multiple males that cannot put down their cell phones and are blantly rude to other drivers. YOU ARE NOT BILLY BAD A$$ on the streets of Fairbanks. Cars, motorcycles and all motorized vehilces (lawn mowers, LOL) are dangerous.
To my motorcyclists friends and the reason we all are writing today. Good Luck to you and I do my best to pay extra special attention in warm days to your possibilty of being on the road. To many riders are hurt for many reasons not excluding their own miss judgements.

Lets not forget they have also done a Toy Drive the weekend after tryouts, KidsFest(Boys and Girls Club), Big Brothers Big Sisters Auction, Sold raffle tix for a fundraiser for a hunting association, This week they are helping at the Teen Wellness Fair at West Valley and much more to come... They are a group of good looking girls that did one event geared towards men, and they wore jeans and t-shirts they had slightly modified. No uniforms had even been ordered yet. that is one out of five community events. So who has a daughter on a cheer or dance team that has done a car wash, you know that have the old perverts attending that are going to look at the girls in their bikini tops scrubbing their vehicle, give me a freakin break, please.

Ohdaddi... Lee Mireles was demoted to Defensive Coordinator because he is still learning the game of Indoor Football which is significantly diffrent from outdoor. Coach Fourcade has lots of experinance in indoor ball and is working with Lee to make sense of it all so that one time Lee maybe the Head coach again. As far as players being cut but kept as dummies is a crock. The IFL only allows for 27 players to be on a roster and 4 of those 27 are injured players that a team does not want to release due to other teams then having the opportunity to steal them. During a game only 20 players of 23 left are allowed to play and the released players are given the option to leave or stay and practice, by personal choice. A typical IFL team can go through 40 players in a season due to injuries and our local problem is military... They lots of times are not allowed to leave town especially to Texas (five of fourteen games). Our local guys are also working jobs that may not allow for them to travel, unless you are a player or well educated in the rules and regulations you may want to check your comments. Out of town players are here to play football and that is it they have nothing tieing them down, giving them all the opportunity to be dedicated to nothing but our team. If your source is a player that was cut then maybe consider the fact that they may be a little bitter about the outcome of their experiance. Our community does not have the exposure that the players from the lower 48 does. Coach Fourcade would like to keep as many local players as allowed to still make advancements in the league, mind you it took the Wild ten games to get a win, it took us three. If you have questions ask don't just assume. I have spoken to the office staff they understand this is a new thing to the community and are very friendly about answering questions about players and coaches. The website has a few tips also.

I love that marraige has finally come up as a contract, which it is. A piece of paper, and the wedding is a party for gifts and family to hang out. My parents who just recently got married after being together for 27 years, decided not only was it just a peice of paper but they got some great gifts and a great party in Vegas baby! My mom got to wear a red dress and all, just like she wanted. The only benefit that they got out of not being married was my school loans, thank god my mom is self employed and claims me so I only have one parent. There would have never been a doubt in anyones mind that they did not love eachother and in most cases loved eachother more then a "married couple"
The whole point is I've met gay couples that have more love for eachother then the typical relationship. Why should they not get the benefits of contracting that love as many have for years.
