The United Way of the Tanana Valley fundraising campaign is in full swing, as presentations are being conducted at area businesses to help implement successful workplace campaigns.
This past week, United Way staff and campaign volunteers traveled to the Pogo Mine, near Delta Junction, to give presentations to the various shift crews. The owner of the mine, Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., has been a loyal supporter of United Way, as evidenced by their yearly growth in contributions. Last year, employees and corporate contributions totaled more than $61,500, which was an increase of $10,000 during the previous year.
“A United Way workplace campaign is a great way to live out your organization's values and boost employee loyalty and morale,” says United Way’s website. “Supporting a campaign that offers everyone at the office an opportunity to experience the power of unity through giving makes a powerful statement about your commitment to our community.”
