Candidates for Senate District C and House District 5 will face off this evening in a forum hosted by the University of Fairbanks student government. The forum largely focuses on issues important to the university system such as student loans, programs and state funding.

From the ASUAF:

The Associated Students of the University of Alaska Fairbanks (ASUAF) will be sponsoring a candidate forum for State House and Senate elections. This forum will take place on September 27 from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Schaible Auditorium on the UAF Campus. The candidates that will attend this forum are Click Bishop and Anne Sudkamp for Senate District C, and Pete Higgins and Dave Watts for House District 5.

Each candidate will answer premade questions to start with, and there will also be a time for members of the audience to ask the candidates their own questions. There will be time after the formal questions are asked for audience members to ask individual candidates questions that were not brought forward earlier. This time will also be an opportunity for the press to get interviews with the candidates and people attending the forum.
