ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A pedestrian who was struck by a car after stopping in one of Anchorage's major roadways has died.
Police say the woman and two other women were walking across Boniface Parkway at about 1:45 a.m. Wednesday. Police say the two other women made it across, but the woman who was hit was standing in the road.
A driver upon seeing the woman in the road stopped his car and put on the flashers. But the driver of a second car did not see the woman and hit her. Police say the woman was wearing dark clothing and suffered severe head injuries.
The Anchorage Daily News (http://is.gd/b2GiTh)says the woman was taken to the hospital and died.
Police say alcohol may have played a role in the accident.
Earlier in the evening, a man was riding his skateboard on a roadway just off the parkway when he was struck by a motorcycle. He also died.
