FAIRBANKS — Alaska State Troopers have identified the two people killed in a crash Friday afternoon on the Parks Highway between Fairbanks and Nenana.

They were Shawn Dugan, 25, of Fort Wainwright and Homestead, Iowa, and his passenger Sandy Graetzsch, of Fairbanks. Their next of kin have been notified.

Dugan and Graetzsch were driving south on the Parks Highway when Dugan lost control on a turn at 336.7 Mile, according to the trooper report.

Witnesses told troopers the 2008 Nissan Altima driven by Dugan skidded out of control and crossed the center line where it collided with a northbound 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by Rhonda Coghill, 49, of Nenana.

Coghill and her granddaughter Arianna Coghill, 4, received nonlife-threatening injuries and were taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
