FAIRBANKS - High winds over Eagle Summit are again expected to cause the road to drift over after dark, according to the Alaska Department of Transportation.

Road crews will leave the high-elevation portion of the Steese Highway between 101-116 Mile after 5 p.m., and the road is likely to drift over. Travelers who find it necessary to attempt the summit are warned to expect extreme weather conditions with severe wind chills, drifting snow and low visibility.

This advisory is in effect through the weekend.
