WASILLA, Alaska - A 15-year-old boy is accused of breaking into a Mormon church in Wasilla three times and vandalizing it each time.

Alaska State Troopers say the teen is charged with burglary and criminal mischief in connection with the burglaries and vandalism at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The teen was arrested Sunday following the third burglary.

According to troopers, officers responded to a report of a fire at the church Nov. 2, but there was no fire.

Troopers say the church was vandalized that time and during the other subsequent break-ins, for total damages estimated at $40,000.

Troopers say the boy was arrested at a home on Knik Goose Bay Road after authorities completed an on-scene investigation.

The teenager was taken to the Mat-Su Youth Facility.
