FAIRBANKS - Strong winds and blowing snow have been reported along a 15-mile stretch of the Steese Highway at Eagle Summit.

Travel across the exposed 3,685-foot summit between Miles 101-116 is not recommended after 4:30 p.m. today (Wednesday), when road crews leave for the day. The area is experiencing strong winds and is likely to drift over, according to the Alaska Department of Transportation.

If travel is necessary, please use caution and be prepared for extreme conditions. The advisory is in effect through Thursday.
