Jillian Rogers

Jillian Rogers is a part-time writer, photographer and copy editor at the News-Miner. Born near Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, she moved north after graduating from Loyalist College with a diploma in photojournalism. Jillian worked at a newspaper in Whitehorse for six years where she was introduced to dog mushing and covered the Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race for several years. She met Sam Harrel on the Yukon Quest trail and in 2005, got married and packed her truck to head to Fairbanks. Now, when she's not in the newsroom, she's out on the trail with some of her 16 sled dogs.
