The Toghotthele Trail Run, the first event of this year’s Northern Trail Running Series, starts at 11 a.m. Saturday near Nenana.
The starting line and finish line are at a gravel pit 1.5 miles north of Nenana.
To get there from Fairbanks, head south on the Parks Highway toward Nenana. Turn left at 305 Mile Parks Highway and follow the dirt road across the railroad tracks and up a steep hill for a half mile to the gravel pit.
All turns from the highway to the gravel pit are scheduled to be well marked on Saturday.
The race features a challenging 10-kilometer course with a mix of dirt roads and technical trail running.
Registration is only on Saturday at the gravel pit. Proceeds of the race benefit the Nenana High School cross-country team.
A potluck barbecue is slated for after the race and participants are encouraged to bring food to share.
