The Tanana Chiefs Conference is conducting the Khotr’elneyn 5-Kilometer Run and Walk at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Birch Hill Recreation Area.
The inaugural race memorializes people in the community who have died of cancer.
Khotr’elneyn, according to information on the Tanana Chiefs Conference’s Facebook page, is from the Tanana dialect and means “we remember.”
Registration is free but race bibs will be sold at a suggested donation of $5 each, which will go to the Interior Alaska Cancer Association.
Information on cancer prevention, screenings and support services will be available.

Volunteers needed for Endurance Run
The Alaska Endurance Trail Run is seeking volunteers.
The event begins at 8 p.m. Friday at the University of Alaska Fairbanks West Ridge Trails. The timed endurance features options of six, 12 and 24 hours.

Junior golf camps
James Contreras and Wayne Sawchuk will be conducting the Fairbanks Golf Course Junior Golof Camps.
The camps are open for ages 7-17 and are limited to the first 16 paid golfers.
The camps take place from Monday through June 7 from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1-3 p.m.
The cost is $125 each and the fee includes a daily snack.

The United States Tennis Association Pacific Northwest Section is offering weekly summer tennis camps from Monday through Aug. 9 at the Dan Ramras Community Tennis Courts.
The USTA PNW’s RecTennis Summer Camps ranges from $42 per week for 90-minute daily sessions to $105 per week for four-hour daily sessions.
RecTennis also offers a 1-hour HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) class for adults for $10 per sesson.
