Fairbanks Rollergirls play host to derby doubleheader

FAIRBANKS — The Fairbanks Rollergirls, also known as FBXRG, are playing host to a roller derby doubleheader Saturday night at the Carlson Center.

The doors open at 4 p.m., and starting at 5 p.m., the FBXRG Roller Borealis will be facing the Rage City Rollergirls of Anchorage. Following that bout, the FBXRG All Stars will be stage jams and exchange blocks with the Rat City Reign of Terror from Seattle.

Tickets are available at Team Cutters, Interior Graphics and Chartreuse. Fairbanks Rollergirls fans also get tickets online at or at Ticketmaster outlets at Fred Meyer, or from any Rollergirls player.

There are discounts for seniors and military.

A portion of the proceeds of the doubleheader will go towards the University of Alaska Foundation Ruth Listerr Scholarship.

This is the second bout at the Carlson Center in a little more than a month for the FBXRG. The team competed against the Pacific Roller Derby All-Stars of Hawaii on Dec. 10, falling 152-72.
