The Lathrop High School tennis team improved to 3-0 this Mid Alaska Conference season after Tuesday's 7-0 win over the North Pole Patriots at the North Pole High School courts.

Ashley Plys rallied for the Malemutes with a 5-6, 6-2, 7-5 victory over Sarah Beaver in the girls No. 2 singles match.

Lathrop teammate Helen Wharton won 6-0, 6-0 over Paige Stapp in the No. 1 girls singles duel.

Luke Milliam took the boys No. 1 match 6-1, 6-1 over North Pole's Luke Roehrig. Gus Roselius won by a 6-3, 6-1 decision over Bryce Wyman in the No. 2 contest.

Lathrop's boys doubles of Connor Musick and Ryan Thomas claimed a 6-1, 6-4 decision over Caleb Roehrig and Wilson Wade in the boys doubles matchup.

The Malemutes girls doubles of Ashley Plys and Tifani Hollcraft defeated Naya Derendoff and Daniella Conkey 6-0, 6-1 in girls doubles.

Wharton and Jagan Nautiyal won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, over Amber Stewart and Aaron Zeisel in mixed doubles action.


Hutch-West Valley

West Valley's mixed doubles of Cole Neal and Jordan Dick earned a 6-1, 6-3 win over Hutchison's Sofia Squires and Isaiah Moore, helping the Wolfpack to a 7-0 dual-meet victory at the Dan Ramras Community Tennis Courts on Tuesday.

Axton Siekman rallied for a 6-5 (5-1), 6-2 decision over Moore in the boys No. 2 singles match. 

West Valley took the No. 1 boys singles match with a Kqde Rowland's 6-0, 6-1 win over Cooper Irinaga.

The Wolfpack's boys doubles of Fin Ludwig and Eli Ludwig prevailed 6-4, 1-6, 8-6 over Eli Krisch and Irinaga.

Klara Kondrake won 6-0, 6-0 over Hutchison’s Katy Kotche in girls No. 1 singles.

West Valley’s Madeline Wiles swept Jennifer Langley 6-0, 6-0 in the girls No. 2 singles match.

Wolfpack teammates Samantha Stark and Morgan Ely won 6-2, 6-2 over Karilyn Blanchard and Ana Brosnan in the girls doubles contest.
