The North Pole and Lathrop High School wrestling teams faced off in a dual meet at North Pole last Tuesday, with the Malemute boys earning a 59-9 win and the Patriot girls clinching a 34-27 victory.

Lathrop boys Ian Werner (103), Riley Williams (112), Jeremy Bockert (125), Kawaiola Patterson (135), David Weimer (140), Jacob Johnson (145), Kobe Ames (160) and Sean Michel (189) each earned weight class wins.

Aaron Peterson (119), Ramon Gloria (215) and Ernest Hollcraft (285) earned wins for the Malemutes by forfeit, as the Patriots forfeited in those weight classes.

North Pole boys Darinn Peterson, Kyle Stolz and Via Skipps earned wins at 130, 152 and 171, respectively.

North Pole girls Elizabeth Schumaker (119), Janice Dykes (125) and Kristy Massey (160) won their weight class matches. Dakota Darby (130), Emily Bellant (145) and Megan Parrish (235) won their divisions for the Patriots by forfeit.

Lathrop’s Alysa Stigall won her match at 119. Kaylana Keith (103), Amaya Johnson (112), Danielle Johnson (135) and Zoe Dalrymple (189) earned wins by forfeit. 

Lathrop and North Pole face off again 5 p.m. Tuesday at Lathrop. The meet will also be senior night for the Malemutes.

Malemutes down Wolfpack

The Lathrop boys and girls wrestling teams earned wins over West Valley last Wednesday at Lathrop.

The Malemute girls beat the Wolfpack 45-0. Lexy Mulder (112), Danielle Johnson (135) and Desarae Matheny (160) each earned wins for West Valley in their weight class. 

Keith (103), Amaya Johnson (119), Stigall (125), McKenzie Hayes (130) and Dalrymple (189) won by forfeit.

The Malemute boys earned a 50-21 win over the Wolfpack with wins in 10 of the 14 weight classes. 

Lathrop’s Williams (103),  Bockert (125), Jaden Stone (130), Patterson (135), Weimer (140), Cael Platt (152), Josiah Opp (160) and Michel (215) all earned wins in their matches.

Andrew Killian-Dalrymple and Roberto Lechuga Porras also picked up points for the Malemutes at 112 and 119, respectively.

Isaac Coon (145), Peter Macchione (189), Shaun Conwell (285) earned wins for West Valley. Jesse Schnabel (171) won by forfeit. 

West Valley next wrestles North Pole at home at 6 p.m. Thursday. The meet will also be senior night for the Wolfpack.

Ravens dominate home meet

Eielson hosted and earned wins over Delta Junction and Hutchison last Wednesday. 

The Ravens finished the meet with a 36-21 win over the Huskies and a 45-7 win over the Hawks. Delta finished the day with a 28-8 win over Hutchison.

Eielson next hosts West Valley at 6 p.m. Friday. Hutchison and Delta compete at the Glennallen Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
