The Fairbanks 49ers were outhit 9-6 against the Alaska Wild in Tuesday night’s American Legion Baseball game at Marlin Field.
The 49ers, however, prevailed on the scoreboard with a 10-9 victory in the seven-inning contest.
Isaac Roehl scored three times for the 49ers while batting 1 for 2 with a RBI and two walks.
Graydon Lesneski drove in a run with a walk and finished 1 for 1 with a run scored.
Teammate Jake Terzi batted likewise and scored a run and was issued a walk.
Shaun Conwell earned the win on the mound after a five-inning stint for the 49ers. Conwell struck out four and walked two while allowing six hits and six runs, with four earned.
49ers relief pitcher Travis Moore scattered three hits and allowed three runs in 12/3 innings. He struck out one and walked two.
Alex Kazense scored twice while batting 2 for 4 and Wild teammate Chris Luskeet hit 1 for 1.
The Wild used four pitchers.
Starter Brock Weatherspoon went 1 2/3 innings, allowing three hits, seven runs (six earned) and walking five while striking out one.
Hunter Merideth gave up a hit in 2 1/3 innings and he allowed two runs (one earned) and six walks.
Hatcher Wendt had a strikeout while scattering two hits and allowing a run (earned) and one walk.
Chris Luskeet pitched perfect relief for one inning.
It was the 49ers’ second 10-9 win over the Wild in five days. The 49ers won by the same score June 21 in the opening game of the Midnight Sun Tournament at Arco.
The tournament opener began at 12:05 a.m.
The Wild went on to capture the tournament title with a 13-12 victory over Palmer on Sunday at Arco Field.
The 49ers placed third Sunday with a 10-4 win over East Anchorage at Marlin Field.
The 49ers face Wasilla at 6:30 p.m. today at Marlin Field and resume the series there at 11 a.m. Sunday.
The Wild take on Wasilla at 1 and 4 p.m. Saturday.
