The host Delta Junction Huskies advanced to the boys championship game of the Dean Cummings Memorial Tournament after winning a semifinal Friday at Delta Junction High School.
The Huskies beat the Nome-Beltz Nanooks 69-49 to advance to the championship game at 6:30 p.m. today.
Drenen Magee scored a game-high 17 points and three Delta teammates had 14 points each — Austin Durham, Jason Montes and Ben Bialik.
Dawson Schaeffer produced a team-high 16 points and Stephen Anderson had 10 for the Nanooks, who play for third place at 3:30 p.m. today.
In the boys consolation round Friday, the North Pole Patriots advanced to the fourth-place game after winning 59-47 over the Redington Huskies, of Wasilla.
Alex Garcia led the Patriots with 21 points and Adam Selid scored 17 for North Pole, which plays the Glennallen Panthers for fourth place at 12:30 p.m. today.
Tony Rogers had a team-high nine points and Wayde Bowman and Cort Sandefur scored eight apiece for Redington, which plays in the seventh-place game at 9:30 a.m. today.
Results of other games Friday were not reported.
Wolfpack play for O'Brady's title
The West Valley Wolfpack emerged with a 59-53 victory over the Thunder Mountain Falcons on Friday and advanced to today's championship game of the O'Brady's Invitational boys basketball tournament at South Anchorage High School.
Demarcus Davis led the Wolfpack with 15 points and Cortarius Mingo scored 13 against the Falcons, of Juneau.
West Valley, 6-1 overall, faces the South Anchorage Wolverines for the title at 4 p.m.
The Wolfpack started the six-team, round-robin tournament Thursday with a 57-51 overtime win against the Colony Knights, of Palmer.
