To the editor:
People in District C are fortunate to have Anne Sudkamp running for state senator. Let me tell you what I’ve learned about her during the past 20 years.
She has integrity. I have seen her fight for what she believes in and work hard to fulfill her responsibilities. She knows about finance on both a big and small scale. She wrote grants bringing in $11 million to our local economy and then had a major hand in managing that money.
Her family had some lean times, and I have watched her be very frugal with her money while also providing necessities for her family. She will be careful with Alaska’s money as well and will hold the line on $2 billion per year tax breaks to the oil companies without hard and fast assurances of increased oil production.
She knows the Alaska lifestyle, having built a cabin with her husband and fed her family moose, salmon and homegrown veggies. She will protect the Alaska lifestyle.
She has joined millions of American women in starting a small business and knows the challenges of that. She will work to promote business opportunities.
She knows about issues important to women and will bring that perspective to a male-dominated Legislature.
She also is one of the smartest people I know. She will study the issues before the Senate and be very well informed before she votes.
Running a frugal campaign, she will be beholden to no one but you, her constituents. I encourage District C voters to cast your vote for Anne Sudkamp.
