For the first time in 11 years, the 8x10 Alaska Playwrights Festival features six local authors among the eight selected in the competition.

The eight plays, each 10 minutes long, are to be presented April 13-14 at the Riverfront Theatre for two shows only at 8:15 p.m. each night.

Following both performances, there will be a light buffet reception for audience, playwrights and actors.  The $ 20 ticket price includes the buffet.

The Fairbanks playwrights include:  Virginia Nelson, Steve Mitchell, Michael Shaeffer, Tom Moran, Carl Triplehorn, and Gregory Shipman.

The other two winning playwrights are Linda Billington of Anchorage and Dawson Moore of Valdez.
