FAIRBANKS — U.S. Sen. Mark Begich announced this week Fairbanks native Amy Miller will join his staff as press secretary Sept. 26.

Miller replaces former Begich spokeswoman Julie Hasquet who is going to work for BP-Alaska.

Originally from Fairbanks, Miller worked as a reporter at the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, as communications director of Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Wash., and for public relations agencies Thompson & CO. and Bernholz and Graham.
