FAIRBANKS — The U.S. Army Garrison Safety Office at Fort Wainwright will host a Safe-N-Sane safety day from

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Last Frontier Community Activity Center on post.

The Army has partnered with local organizations and businesses to educate military personnel and family members about winter in Interior Alaska.

Booths and demonstrations will cover topics such as vehicle care, health care and child car seat safety inspections. Child ID kits will be made available, and McGruff the Crime Dog will be on hand.

Entertainment will be provided by Alaska Native dancers and athletics and arts groups. Four-time Iditarod winner Jeff King will attend from noon to 3 p.m. to visit and share stories with attendees.
