To the editor:
For years, we have been discussing a rail extension through Canada to the Lower 48. I hope I live long enough to see it.
A rail connection would allow for the transportation of goods and products to the Lower 48 and also allow for cheaper transportation costs for products needed with Alaska
What is holding up the rail extension? Could it be big money? We would be able to send natural gas, other raw materials and finished products out, increasing our economy, and import finished products.
It also would decrease the cost of travel to and from the Lower 48 and decrease our dependence on air travel.
