To the editor:

A recent event that is happening far too often in our community — the robbery of a pulltab operator — moves me to write a letter to our community.

David Lambert, owner of Emerald Isle Pull Tabs, supports the program efforts of more than a dozen community organizations that provide significant benefits to our youth, our elderly, sports and arts enthusiasts and more. The good people who staff this location are genuinely interested in the programs that their work advances and do not deserve to be confronted with a gun.

If anyone has information about this robbery, or any other robbery of hard-working small businesses in our community, please call the local police to assist in holding those people accountable for their outrageous and selfish actions.
