To the editor:

I would like to share my recent experiences with the Fairbanks North Star Borough Planning Department.

As a real estate professional in the community, one of my clients had an issue with grandfather rights. My first call was to Rep. Tammie Wilson, as I know this is one of the issues she has worked with in the past. She immediately called the borough, walked me through the process and put me in touch with Bernardo Hernandez and Doug Simms. Hernandez took my application in person and looked through it for accuracy and completeness.

These three public servants went above and beyond the call of duty. From Rep. Wilson having a no-issue-is-too-small attitude to the borough employees streamlining a difficult process, the end result was two families reaching their real estate goals. I thank them again for all their hard work.
