FAIRBANKS - Woodriver Elementary School went into a precautionary lockdown during an evening event Monday because of an unsubstantiated report of a gunman in the area.

A parent picking up a student reported seeing a “scrawny kid” carrying a gun, Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman Meghan Peters said. Troopers searched the area and did not find anything to substantiate the report.
